A Story of Resilience, Friendship, and Hope
Follow in the footsteps of Vibhu, a little church mouse, as he remembers a difficult time in his life.
Vibhu and his friends are caught in the Easter Sunday bomb attack in Sri Lanka as they observe the Mass from their mouse hole. Amid the chaos, Vibhu realizes that his best friend, Seha, is missing. He makes his way through the debris and faces many obstacles in his search for his friend.
The story recalls the events of that tragic day and the aftermath of the attacks through the eyes of these little mice. We follow Vibhu as he learns to deal with loss and grief, and finds comfort in the arms of the Saviour.
"The linguistic style is simple yet expressive of the fear and sadness that gripped everyone on that occasion, and the sentiments of sorrow and sharing that animated their minds and hearts. Yet, the author shows how this saddest experience challenged everyone to aspire for the noblest of goals in life: the resolve to rise from the ashes of tragedy to true fraternity, care, and concern for others." His Eminence Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith (Cardinal of the Catholic Church, Sri Lanka)
'This is the most beautiful and gentle children's book about love, friendship, loss and grief I could imagine. It's touching the soul and connects to the history that shouldn't be forgotten through the eyes of animals. Ohhh... so great for everyone, not just an Easter Sunday story'

'I admire the author for taking a real-life tragedy and using it to teach us the lesson of hope, friendship and the meaning of family to children everywhere. This book took me back to that day but in a way I never expected. The tenderness of Ari and Vibhu's relationship is heartwarming; you'll love to share this book with your little ones. This book is a definite must-read!'

'I don't often read books aimed at older children, but having read the description for this book, I wanted to read this one. Told as a children's story about a young church mouse, this little book sensitively describes what happened in Easter April 2019, when 3 Christian churches were bombed by extremists. The book sees the events through the eyes of the tiny mouse - seeing the church that he lives in filled with joy and happiness before the bombing, the chaos and fear just after, the clearing up and the mourning, then eventually the return to a place of beauty once more, but with changes as everyone remembers those lost and what has occurred. Although the story refers to an event at a Christian church, its message of shared grief and reconciliation is one that kids of all backgrounds will be able to relate to. Using the grief of a mouse to help children think about loss and eventually moving on, also makes the story very relevant to all those who have lost someone. A heartfelt and important story.'
